Reading Reflection No. 2
1. The theme of the book was that anyone can be successful if they do it right and have the right systems, mindsets, and thoughts. It mainly gives lots of different ways to do basic things that would improve them.
2. This book focused on a lot of the same topics that ENT 3003 does. It discussed passion, failure, and goals. I liked what Scott Adams said about passion and I think it relates a lot to entrepreneurs. He believes that passion doesn't create success but more that success creates passion. I think a lot of entrepreneurs have tons of passion but few find great success. I think this book would be very helpful for them.
3. Adams focused on systems that lead to goals instead of just goals you wish to accomplish. This is a great idea in that it's much more difficult to say you failed a system than it is to say you failed at reaching a goal. I would create an assignment in which students had to identify a goal they had and then create a system they will use to reach it.
4. I liked a lot what he said about doing certain tasks at your most energetic times instead of just a time of day. I am very scheduled and like to plan out when I do certain things. This system works well, but sometimes I am so tired when I get to the time I'm supposed to finish a task that I can't put 100% effort into it. I like the idea of scheduling things for when I'll have the most energy to do them instead.

I think you did a good job on this assignment but the only thing that I wish was there is what book you read. I think these reading reflections are great for peer reviews because based off the other students reviews I may want to read the book they did. Other than that I think you did a good job answering each question.
ReplyDeleteHelpful book dealing with alternative methods for success in the business world. I really like the idea of latching onto systems, completing those, and then developing future, attainable goals for an individual or company. Definitely a book I would consider reading! Also, his success mindset is different from others in that he promotes doing things at a slightly different pace or time of day.
