Halfway Reflection

1. I'm always very organized and regimented with my work. As such, keeping myself on a regular schedule to finish my work for this course was easy for me. I keep the same schedule each week for finishing my work. I also keep everything I have to do in my google calendar so I can quickly reference it. I have classes Monday through Thursday, so Friday's is when I finish all my work for this class. The Sunday before when I'm doing peer reviews, I check to see if the upcoming assignments require interviews that I need to work on during the week. Once I get all my information from interviews if need be I take notes in my blogger page. When Friday comes I typically start early in the afternoon and work for however long it takes but I'm never stressed about finishing since I have all afternoon.

2. One moment when I felt like giving up was when I had 3 exams in 24 hours last semester. It was between the second and third exam and my brain was exhausted from studying. What got me through was thinking that after the third exam I could come home and sleep for as long as I wanted to and not have to worry about any exams for a while. I also reminded myself that my courses were only exam based so my performance would directly impact my semester grades and GPA. Over the last two months in this class I've definitely developed a good routine that keeps me accountable for this class. Since it's all online if you're not proactive about keeping up with the work, it becomes very easy to fall behind and miss assignments. Since the business school has so many online courses I've been prepared in previous semesters for online classes.

3. Three tips I would give students next semester are to be mindful of their time management for this class. If they try and wait until Friday evening to start the entire weeks work they will be stressed as many times the assignments require a lot of interviews that take up time. I would encourage them to make a routine and stick to it every week so that this course never gets forgotten about. If they have a good routine down they'll know that every Sunday they need to start their work for the week and every Friday it's due and they will never miss a deadline. Lastly,  I would tell them to keep working even if they get stressed or stuck. If they work through the difficult things when they're in school then later in life they'll have the skills needed to work through challenges.

  1. When reading your post, I admire your organization and work ethic. I do share the element of hard work with you but I do struggle to organize my time so that I am not stressed at the last moment with a lot of work. I also said that a schedule is the best tip for incoming students because when you do manage your time this class is very manageable.

  2. I agree that a schedule makes it very easy to not fall behind on work as long as you update and look at your schedule every day. You seem like a very organized person and I admire that you have a consistent routine where you attend live lectures during the week and do work for this class on Fridays. I also really liked your last tip, which said you should never give up, as this work will help you establish an entrepreneurial mindset and help you in the long run.

  3. In every halfway reflection I read, including my own, we had the same idea about easily falling behind. This class has a LOT of assignments, and its super easy to fall behind. well done.
